Carbonara Pizza Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 1 prepared pizza crust (uncooked)
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 6 ounces shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 425.
  • 2 Grease a 12 inch pizza pan.
  • 3 Press pizza dough into pan.
  • 4 Prick dough with a fork.
  • 5 Bake at 425 for 7 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • 6 Saute onion and garlic in butter in a saucepan until tender.
  • 7 Stir in flour and pepper.
  • 8 Gradually add milk.
  • 9 Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  • 10 Reduce heat; stir in parmesan cheese.
  • 11 Spread mixture over hot crust.
  • 12 Sprinkle with bacon, monterrey jack cheese and green onion.
  • 13 Bake at 425 for 8 to 12 minutes.
  • 14 Let stand 5 minutes before cutting.
  • 15 Serve warm.
